This was an experiment, fancied making a smoky soup.
So I threw in some chorizo, and dry fried it to get some if that lovely oil out so I could throw in some onion, carrot and celery a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes, two tins of chickpeas, some pepper, garlic, cumin and paprika. Then I covered it with chicken stock and let it cook for a while. The soup was a little thin so I threw in some red lentils to thicken it up.
It was very nice, comments from Lindsay and Megan were that it needed less chickpeas and more chorizo. Next time I might add a pepper, and some Savoy cabbage.
